retarded, 150ºC fluoropolymer heat-shrinkable tubing.

Compound properties

Compound D4-I is a radiation crosslinkable compound offering superior chemical resistance, cut-through and abrasion resistance properties. A specially selected combination of fluoropolymers , processing aids and additives makes this compound an excellent choice for the manufacturing of heat-shrinkable tubings which will easily meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-23053/18 class 2 and UL 224 VW-1.
The compound can be extruded on standard PE extruders or PVC extruders having a 2:1 pressure ratio.

Extrusion

Packaging

The compound is packed in sealed PE bags of 25 kg.
We recommend to store the compound below 30ºC.

Tubing properties

Heat-shrinkable tubing made of this compound will show a continuous operating temperature of 150ºC. The excellent heat-ageing properties allows the product to withstand 275ºC for short periods. The combined high performance properties makes the sleeving made of this compound an excellent choice for intended use as wire markers, insulation and wire and component relief in applications in the aircraft, automotive, military , paper, steel ,chemical and medical industry. The tubing can be easily sterilized. Clear tubing may be considered for use as replacements for non flame-retarded clear sleevings. Coloring can be achieved by adding special color masterbatches.
