Compound C2-DE-M
Moisture crosslinkable compound for very flexible
flame-retarded non-dripping
commercial thin wall polyolefin heat-shrinkable tubing.
Compound properties
Compound C2-DE-M is a silane-grafted, moisture crosslinkable compound
offering excellent chemical resistance and flame-retardancy properties.
The carefully selected combination of polyolefin based polymers, a selection
of superior flame-retardants , processing aids and additives makes this
compound an excellent choice for the manufacturing of commercial heat-shrinkable
tubing, which will easily meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-23053/5 class
3, UL 224-VW 1, CSA C22.2 No 198.1 OFT and VG 95343 Part 5 Type A.
The compound is easy processable at high speeds with minimal melt fracture
and can be extruded on standard PE or PVC screws having a 2:1 pressure
ratio.

Packaging
To avoid premature crosslinking and to achieve a 6 months shelf-life
after date of production, all moisture crosslinkable PTL compounds are
packed in aluminium coated bags of 25 kg.
The compound should be stored below 30ºC.
Tubing properties
Heat-shrinkable tubing made of this compound will show a continuous operating
temperature of 135ºC. The excellent heat-ageing properties allows the
product to withstand 250ºC for short periods. The compound shows excellent
flame-retardancy properties and is non-dripping. This makes the tubing,
manufactured of this compound an excellent choice for applications were
non-flame-propagating properties are required.
Tubing manufactured from this compound will shrink at temperatures above
90ºC
